I took the dist out striped it down and cleaned it all. The vacum pipe on the bottom was full of mud. Now back and working as soon as I have replaced my 2 front hub oil seals which I am in the middle of doing at the moment then I will test the dissy out with a long run over Salisbry plain and see how I get on.

Good advice Jim. I took the dist out striped it down and cleaned it completly the vacum pipe metal section at the base was full of mud with some grime at the bottom of the dist.
Put it all back together again then had to replace my crankshaft oil seal and 2 front hub oil seals before I could take her out for a spin.

The spin was yesterday 150 miles to and going over Salisbury plain.

Had no problems and went through a lots of water on the plain.
