I've run with my front plate mounted loosly behind the dirver's seat. 
......if I need to cross the border or something, I grab it and wedge it between the passenger sun visor and the windshield. Might actually drill 4 holes in the visor and mount it permanent like that one day....maybe.
I think that the Euro style plate on mine either confuses most of the police around here or they don't notice at all because of the vehicle......
