Covered with a proper pad the box design makes a great sleeping platform. I removed my seats and use the space under the installed wood platform for my camping gear which always remains in the vehicle..about 200 pounds.

They are 16ga steel and yes I made it. 60" drawer, rated for 750lbs, and 100% roller bearing drawer slides.
