My daughter Charley took the shots and the camera had too much dust in it by that time of night.

Wildlife, included, lizards, buzzards, one coyote close to Glenn Springs, 3 pairs of scaled (blue) quail, some mournig doves, a bunch of LGBs (little grey birds) and I think one red racer snake, plus one snake that looked like some kind of grass snake on the main park road.

I don't think anybody has been doing any donkey or wild horse shoots for years. PETA, et al has fits if the critters are rounded up, but in all honesty I don't have any idea.

It was a good time with good people. If we can find a time a little earlier in the year to do another one when the weather is cooler and school isn't a factor it would be better. Big thing was; no accidents and no break downs, therefore it was a success, at least in my book.

Glad you guys had a great time. I'm sorry I had to miss this one! Hopefully next time I will be able to join in.
There are some nice looking pinz's, except for the weird contraption that Shawn is driving   .

Shawn's only looked weird because the paint is fresh and it wasn't dirty.

I'm sorry you couldn't make it too. Would have been really cool to have some more trucks and people. Ranchin' doesn't leave a lot of room for idle days though.

Yeah, finally. Popped something in my back Sunday evening and spent most of yesterday sort of hunched over after the chiropractor visit. Saw him agin this AM and can do something besides shuffle along like a 90 year old.

Hope this works. Speaking of work, it was a pleasure more than work and all worthwhile when folks actually showed up.

The photos and videos were all great Andy and everyone else who took them.

As Andy shared with me of-line, it was HOT down in the park. By comparison, I was in Fort Davis this weekend cycling and we had temps at 7:00 am under 60F! It warmed up considerably as the sun came up bit I was thinking about you guys and how brutal it must have been down on the border.

Some great pictures there. Looks like really fun country to drive. I'll show my ignorance by asking how far from Plano is the park that you were driving in?

I can't give you specifics from Plano but it's roughly 600 miles from Houston to BBNP.

It was only 750 miles from Mesa, Az. to BBNP and it will be 780 miles to Leadville, co for the RMP Treffen in a couple of weeks.

Bryn, My Yahoo map says it's 598 miles from Plano to BBNP. From my house it was only about 225 miles. Quite a bit different than Hadrian's wall.

I was on the tractor today and it either drizzled or rained most of the time and it caused me to think of your last pictures. We are still a long way from being anywhere close to as green as your stomping grounds are.

By the way, what is a "Green Lane"?

Regards,

Andy

Thanks. Big place Texas (as if that wasn't stating the obvious). I live pretty far north in England. My wife's family live in Dover in the south-east. Door to door it's about 350 miles!

Green lane is a term used for an unsurfaced road with a vehicular right of way. Green lanes can be parts of the historic road network that have, somehow, escaped being surfaced.
