I wish, but this thing was cut up by momma and her sisters and carved in stone without asking or saying anything to me.

I did get a new hydrauliclly operated Bel-Tec post hole digger for the tractor out of it though.

It's shaping up like Colorado maybe out too unless I can break up daughter #2's impending marriage for the first of August. That is gonna have to be the mother of all clandestine ops though. :D

My wife is actually a professional musician (harpist) so let me know if you need her for the wedding! There may be a transportation surcharge to get her and her harp to Comstock though.

We're planning to take lots of photos of Big Bend so that we've have a larger turn out for the next trip. I'd like to do something in the fall/winter if possible.

Man, the wedding ain't even gonna be here. It will be down in The Valley. I really do NOT care for weddings and funerals.

So what I read was that when your wife starts harping on you it is serious.

so, alan, you're thinking my 4,935 lb tundra is too light to tow a 710m? it has a stated "tow capacity" (whatever that means) of 10800 lbs.

also, to get clear here, those towbars are no longer available, and there's no way for me to get the design or good photos of one so i can create my own?

Equal weight is considered minumum. Ideally you'd have more, but that's more of a rule of thumb, but some states have restrictions on that.

You won't have any problem pulling it for sure. :-) I can't comment on stopping capability, as I've never tried it with a light truck.

Herbert's bar was designed (and used many times) to tow a pinz with a pinz. Several have gone cross country here & in Europe that way. I'd consider that tow vehicle brake situation marginal, but with a modern 4 wheel disk & ABS it's a different situation.

If I worried about anything (tow bar or trailer) with a lighter pickup it would be to add some bed weight. Small PU's are just so light in the back. Not an issue with a 1 ton, quad cab 4wd Cummins Ram. :-)

He's having more made last I talked with him. Since he sells them as a commercial product it would not be right for me to publish dimensions or detailed photo's. I know he used specific DOM tubing size, thickness, and alloy along with waterjet cut parts. It's not just garden variety materials due to strength requirements.

oh! i totally understand about confidentiality now that i know he's producing them.

so... about how much do these towbars cost? i'd like one.

i dont know his em addy, tho.

and yeah, tundra's have some awesome monster disc brakes. no problem there. and i reckon my shell will add a few hundred pounds. sounds like a solution. thx fro the advice, again!

another thought: i wonder if one can add something that operates the pinz's brakes like a brake controller...

Weight it down with Beer in the back of the truck. By the time it gets to light you won't care.
