I am guessing that this is a wonderful thing for many...but, what does one use it for, where to find it and what does it cost?
Being an ancient wonderer in the world I am trying to determine if this is more confusing technology that I must learn to be
truly connected to others or perhaps something that might not add much.

Based on the remarks it appears that the highly evolved technical folks out there are all for it, and yet, some just flat out have
no idea what it is or how to us it. ...so, for us a primer would be a kindness and much help.

Thanks

2.99 cost for apple products. I see if you watch several forum sites it makes it easer. Other then that I am not sure yet.

Tapatalk is an app used on a SMART phones/tablets, running iOS or Android. Using forums such as these is MUCH easier on small devices. I don't use it on my Samsung Tablet, as the display is plenty large enough. Essentially it formats the forum in a much easier to read format. If you don't use your SMART phone to browse the forum(s), or if you don't have a SMART phone, then you won't need it. Another benefit to Tapatalk, especially with an iPhone/iPad, is the ability to upload photos from your Photo Gallery. This is not possible when using the forum through Apple's browser, Safari. The "browse and attach" feature does not work because iOS does not allow you access to the gallery. With Tapatalk, you can pull a photo from the iPhone Gallery and attach it directly, hosted by this forum (all forum restrictions still apply), or let Tapatalk host it, which is akin to Photobucket and other image hosting sites.

It costs about $2.99 for either the Android or Apple app.

If you belong to other forums, like Military Surplus Collectors, Adventure Rider, Pirate 4x4, VWVortex etc, you can use it there too. All of the main Ural forums run it too.

You only buy it once, and it is free to use with the forums that set it up.

HD??? Now that might be overkill for a forum. Perhaps when Vince goes 3D! :D

Not really sure of the difference - perhaps clearer pictures on the newer iPads?
I googled it last night and there was not much info on the "HD" version that is 2x the price

Vince,

Thank you for adding Tapatalk. It looks great on the iPad. It makes it very easy to keep up with all the postings.
