WHOA! Step far far away from the welder. Judging from what I can see, The only true "welder" in this equation is the machine itself......

I guess some folks just prefer 6 wheels?
What immediately springs to mind was a blue Ford Taurus wagon I saw up at Road America several years back with tandem axles on the rear. The two rear axles meant they needed to sacrifice the rear doors, so it was only a two-door. That one looked pretty cool, IMHO.

I met a guy in the late 90's who had added three trailer axles (unpowered) behind the rear axle of a small pickup, cut the bed and made a four axle fender opening. They actually did a very neat job of it - looked very cool. You could put a 16' board in the bed and close the tailgate! It had no roof or rear wall to the cab, just an open air vehicle. I asked him what the biggest drawback was and he said "transitioning from level to a steep uphill driveway - it has a tendency to lift the drive axle off the ground!". With only one drive axle, I guess this would be called a "2x10".

I want one of those to put the Haf on, except I don't want it so long!
Anything similar, currently produced?

I just use my Sprinter van - my hafi fits in the back with seating for five still in the front... wheels fit between the wheel wells also - I have a small electric winch with a wireless remote to pull it in - but I used to drive it into it...

You just don't have enough Hafies yet!

Can't justify a Sprinter van big enough to put a LWB in. Plus I don't have anywhere big enough to store something that long - one of the reasons I got a Haf rather than anything else like a Pinz or a C303....
It would have to double up as an everyday car.

The mini looks interesting, wonder if you can make one with just a single rear wheel? The Merc is just to big!
I had thought of something along the lines of a wide vehicle so you get a couple of seats on either side of the Haflinger when it was loaded on from the rear vehicle. That way you can take 4 people as well when you travel with or without the Haf.

The Mog would be basically the same speed as just driving the Haflinger

Mini suspensions are quite weak. It would need to be completely custom and a hefty axle =)
Sourced from a rotted out trailer maybe?

I remember a lot of 6 wheeled minis back in the day.......minis have a rear subframe so you just add a second subframe and extend your body......there were stronger/lower/taller cones available for rallying and that kind of thing.
