Rumbling noise while turning

When I turn the wheels sharp to the right I get a rumbling noise in the front drivetrain. It almost sounds like it's in 6wd and it's binding. I do not get the noise turning sharp to the left. This is at low parking lot speeds.

I jacked up the front and tested the 6WD, it engages and disengages freely. There were no weird noises turning the wheels by hand either.

I was thinking it might just be the really aggressive tread of the tires grabbing when the tires are at a weird angle during the turn. But now I'm not sure. Especially since I dont notice it turning left.

Another idea was it's the flex-joint in the right front axle shaft, and it only makes the noise when there's a side load on it.

Ideas??

rotate the tires around and see if it changes.

hey just fyi...

cant hear what yours is doing, but i can offer that i had a rumbling noise a month or two ago...but mine was only when i turned left. it freaked me out kinda bad as i was thinking it was an expensive repair. my tires at the time were badly/oddly worn interco trxux mt and i finally got the money to get some new rubber. went with interco ltb's (i dont know what i was thinking as they arent practical for most of the miles i put on her. but they look awesome and are incredible off road, by comparison). after they were put on, i asked the guy to hop in and listen to the sound to see if he could guess where it was coming from (as if he was a pinz mechanic or something). no noise. period. so did it fix itself? hell if i know. what was wrong? same answer. i certainly hope it doesnt suddenly shatter the entire front end on the highway because i ignored a potential problem, but my poor *ss is definitely happy it completely stopped making that noise!

btw, i found that 3 rights make a left and isnt near as stressful as hearing it make that d*mn sound!

drive one with worn maloyas and your LTB's are like racing slicks as far as noise.

yup, certainly not as loud as i thought they'd be. of course over my exhaust and the stardard pinz gear noise, they would have to be pretty freakin' loud to notice much of an increase in noise anyway. but the maloyas i had would give them a run for their money.

and anyone that even mentions maloyas sparks memory of my famous (well, famous in MY mind because its probably the closest ive come to poo-ing myself since wearing diapers) "powerslide at 55" (tm) within a few feet of a barrier wall, just because it was sprinkling. on my way to swap them out for the first set of trxus, no less. absolutely terrible tires for my purpose, and most owners for that matter. im sorry, terrible tyres as id bet thats the more common spelling over there...
