EFI return line issue

Till we can get on the efi board from jake i have found a way of getting fuel back to the tank from the return part of the efi. :D
Sav sells a double pick up tube assembly i'm sure goes to a 710K, one line is for the main fuel and the other is for the fuel heater, thoe's with A 710K wont be able to use this because it feeds the heater.It will require droping the fuel tank still. :evil:
Part number is 712.67.202.2, it runs about $70.00 i think it beats welding a tube to your tank. Any better ideas lets hear them so we can start working out some of the bugs till the efi units show up.

That is one option, but you miss understand the mod instructions I posted, there is no welding on the tank itself, only a modification to the stock fuel pick-up tube assembly.
Once you get the fuel pick-up out, you drill a hole just large enough to insert a 5/16" steel(brakeline) and braze or weld it to the assembly.
Rinse it out and blow through it to make sure it is clean, then re-install it with a NEW gasket(same as fuel sender gasket). Make sure to form the line close to the tank as clearance is tight.
I'm sure Jake's system installs almost like mine, and I have all the instructions posted with pic's on my website.

for info there is a pick up/return assy available commercially that will go into a tank without welding should you so need one!
It consisted of a teflon stepped bush that is inserted into a 5/8ths hole that you cut into the tank with a steeped cutter. The standpipe arr is constructed in such a manner that when you tighten down the top clench nut it swells the bush and seals the tank from fuel loss.

We us them for big truck APU installs where the diesel tank has to feed the engine on the APU. They work great and don't leak.
