i need a bit of info... ive got a worn ring gear on my pinz and i seem to be having trouble finding a replacement. ei doesnt list one on their web site and sav lists one for 3and change but none in stock. in the good ol days of no money and totally repairable vehicles i used to get away with heating a worn ring gear and removing it from the flywheel then turning it over and re installing it with the unused side towards the starter. is the pinz ring gear symetrical so as to be able to pull this trick off? i would like to find out before i take it down. the beast grinds 15 % of the time and i could streach the tear down untill i find a new /used gear if it is not possible to flop it. sure would be a bummer if i tore it apart and had to wait a lifetime for parts....

Flipping the ring, old school! 8) ! Been years since I've seen that done! I've done a clutch on my Pinz but I didn't notice if the flywheel had a staggered pattern (only one mounting in relation to the crankshaft),If this is not the case, rotate a bolt hole or two (reindex) and find a new sweet spot. Engines tend to "land"roughly in the same spot and changing the start point may fix the issue. This is only a thought, perhaps Dennis or Jim can provide some input.
BTW,3 Pinzes,2 w/starter issues and never fixed, just learned their "moods"!

In Stock...Not on the site. As I recall about $300. Unfortunately, you cannot flip the gear over as only one side has the bevel on the teeth.
