EFI tech stuff

Well, I figured it was a good time to start a new thread for tech issues for those going or gone injection. Please do not stray from topic.
While I haven't heard of any new installs yet, I decided to share some results as I've finally gone full sequential as of today.
First thing I had to do was reduce my injector trim from 56.8% to 5%. This cleaned the idle emissions right up and also improved idle quality.
I'll report back on the performance after a little fine tuning(have to reset accelleration enrichment and duration).

Ok, this is running very sweet in sequential mode

If memory serves, you attach a ring to the crank pulley for your pickup, what is in the distributors spot? Are you using a pertronics unit for ign timing to the coils? I ask as I have modified my stock pulley to accept an additional 2-groove pulley for my A/C and future P/S. Your ring may not fit...we need to talk...

Jim, Are you using an O2 sensor, If yes were is it installed?

Yes, wideband 02 sensor with closed loop control. I mounted it in the muffler inlet pipe(I can run 2 if I want to spend the $$)
For the sync sensor,a modified MSD VW distributor is used, shaft is welded and 3 of the 4 trigger teeth removed to give cam TDC for sequential, also helps smooth out idle in batch fire mode.
Has Jake even shipped any of his kits yet?
Took my truck up the mountain today to check altitude compensation settings and current tune map, ran great on and off the road.
Will check for milage over the next couple of trips.

This makes me anxious to get my EFI installed. I'm looking forward to see how your truck runs in the mountains this weekend. Maybe we can install the tone wheel while I'm down to do the fuel return line.

I've got a pulley machined and ready, tone wheel is mounted, just a quick swap.

As soon as my dad is out of the Hospital and I have these FI kits shipped. Probably just before Christmas.

nice...i see you got the injectors also on top where the intake tubes start(instead of the carbs) i did the same with my k-jet tronic....i stil think it's better to put them shorter to the intake valves..faster response, but hey nice work thow.

If any one say's there is no noticeable difference between carbs and EFI. I say they are full of sh!#. Road with Jim, to day( more like bounce around in the back of his pinz) Throttle response was unreal, lower rpm power was cool, and I was seating just above the muffler with no noticeable oder. Owe and we start at around 3,000 ft and went up to over 8,000 ft. From what I can tell, Jim has got his system really dialed in nice.

Jim do you have any idea what your head or oil temps were yesterday?

by Jim LaGuardia
Oil temp stays around 160-205 deg f , Head temp not wired in on this engine.
