The parking brake is definitely off and we cleaned up and lubed the contact under the truck (I didn't do it but my shop assures me that they did) but now the parking brake light stays on all of the time.
Why?
What can I do about it?

Check your brake fluid level, the light has more than one function

Brake fluid is topped off and I'm sure that light indicates more than a low brake fluid level or that the parking brake is on.
Other things we can check Jim?

Check to make sure the wire under the body isn't contacting the body. I had a lock that the light cme on while I was driving down the road. Pulled over fallowed the wire back to the axe found wire was rubbing on the brake wire.

Simple test for the E brake switch, just unplug it. If the light goes out then the switch is either stuck in on position or out of adjustment.
