Locakable footlocker and stand up rack?

My 712 should get delivered today and I've been thinking about a plan Kirby was looking at - He planned on removing the rear most seats in lieu of lockable storage cabinets. Done properly, it would allow for swapping had I figured on more than 10 passengers (rare).

So a couple of questions...

Has anyone found a metal, lockable foot locker that fits in the space of a single seat section?

Second, and most creative, I'd like to build a rack for one side. Many of the items (lawn chairs, tents, etc) are long. I'd like to create a simple rack that would allow me to store several items vertically. Think of something more robust, yet simpler than: http://www.sportsdirectoryuk.co.uk/prod ... _rack.aspx

I vision a base with a 3-4" flat surround (space at the bottom for water to run out of) with a second flat surround a few feet higher. I could place all of the lengthy items in the rack vertically, maybe add a bungee or two, and I'm good to go. Has anyone ever seen or built something of the like?

I use http://www.tractorsupply.com/vehicle-ma ... ox-0184626 I bolted to were the seat hinge came from.

On the other side I used etrac and strap chairs cooler to the track.

As soon as Hurricane Alex knocks off with the rain, I'll take some photos of the UWS diamond plate lockable aluminum box that I installed in my 712. Easy installation, plenty big enough to hold spares, tools etc. and it fits perfectly in the space available when one seating unit is removed and it's easy to get around too (AKA doesn't stick out too far).

That would be great, thanks.

How did you mount it? I wonder if the truck side boxes would work...

That white box is exactly what I had in mind. Maybe, it will still happen in my ... I mean Wills Pinz.

I have used a heavy duty plastic box in my712 with good results.
While not as "bulletproof" as a metal one it is inexpensive and has plenty of room.

I would fold one front seat down and use straps to secure it, worked fine.
