Slowly but surely figuring out the undocumented bits...

On the left side just aft of the driver divider up high by the aux plug and map light is this little gizmo (looks like a sensor). What's its purpose? It looks like it might be associated with the Eberspächer has a similar logo design?

I believe those heaters had a thermostat option. That's my guess.

Yep, finally found it elsewhere - 'external temperature sensor'.
