Washer Fluid Pump

When I got my truck the pump worked, but took quite a few pumps to get fluid. Now it doesn't seem to work no matter how hard I much I pump. What generally fails on these pumps? I haven't had a chance to dive in yet.

I've found that often the rubber bulb dries out, cracks and leaks air so it can no longer create a suction. Same goes for the plastic lines.

I used a generic NAPA 12V washer pump, added a momentary on button and now drive in style

Thanks. I will take a look at the lines first, as I am sure they are easier to replace.

You could also check fleabay for 24v ones; sometimes you can find one pretty cheap. I decided to go electric for reliability, the rubber bulb may be simpler, but I think if it was an electric pump it would still be working. The one I found online happens to be off a CAT road grader, I just haven't had time to install it yet. I plan to mount a momentary push-button switch in the hole where the bulb used to be.

I’ve had mine tweaked a few times

however thankfully never broken,

sounds painful, let us know if the surgery restores functionality.

Looks to be a fine repair job. How did you do it? Drill and insert the brass looking piece?
