What's the right number on that 303, around $15 - $18K if condition is as stated?

Yes quite a price. I could understand if fully restored but, in 'original' condition to me means as manufactured and new so I do get confused by the apparent high prices of some vehicles.
I would rely on owners of this type of vehicle, like Vince, to be a better judge than I.

A 303 is a little different since you can't just find a good one the moment you want it, where a Pinz or old Land Rover, etc. are much easier to find that way. I guess this makes the price more about "how soon do you want it?". Do you want to wait maybe another 6 months to find a good one that may or may not be a better deal? The early diesel 2-door G-wagens are like that. I ran across two in almost a year that fit what I wanted but a year before that, I didn't see any. Recently I saw three within a few months, so you never know. The G I got had a few more issues than I was wanting to deal with but I had waited long enough and didnt want to keep letting time slip by. I don't regret it even though the perfect one that I had been pursuing for over a year went up for sale 4 months after I bought mine, and for less money!

I'd personally feel better around $16K for that 303, assuming it was a military re-furb (which it looks like it was), needs no major work, is clean underneath, has NO rust issues of any kind and is ready to drive as is. I sold one for $26K once but it was perfect to start with, and had new paint, updated custom exhaust (the stock muffler set-up is crap), $1000 in tires, powder-coated wheels, new glass instead of the plastic side/back windows, new wood rails, a very nice custom winch bumper, pertronix, updated fuel filler, high-end LED tail-lights and some sound insulation/carpet. I'd sell it for $30K these days. (pic below)

You forgot to include your custom fuel filler on that build... seems like an important upgrade.

Nice job on that one.

Thanks. (I mentioned it) And yes it's an absolute must. The stock fuel filler is unusable.

Oops - read that as "fuel filter" and not "fuel filler" in your text...
