Hazy plastic windows

Post by PinzEOD »

I tried out some new stuff (new to me anyways) for cleaning and clearing the plastic windows on M models. It's an Eagle One product called NANO-POLISH. It's made for polishing custom wheels, but it sure does a number on clearing up the plastic windows.

I used to use either a metal polish or a paint cutting compound both worked very well. :)

plastic windows

How is it applied? rag, buffing wheel? To both sides or just outside of window. I am a little nervous about buffing wheels, they (operator error) can really do a job if not handled carefully.

I use an old cotton t-shirt and do a small area at a time by hand, actually, using just a couple of fingers. The Nano-polish directions say to continuously rub until all the product has 'buffed' off, do not let it dry. I did inside and out.

Many have reported good results using the products available at the boat stores. They have the products for doing the plastic windows and seem to work well. The two part products cleaner/buffer seem to give the best results. It all depends on how much elbow grease you use.
