I get mine at WalMart.
Krylon camouflage Ultra-Flat 4293 olive, for 4.95 for a rattle can.
It is not a perfect match but looks better than the kisses left by the rocks and bushes. I keep one in the tool box for emergencies.
Eventually all of it will match.
Very interesting. I've never seen this in a spray can. I wonder if it's really RAL 6014? I'd use this if it were a true color match. Anybody out there try it yet ?
I picked up a couple cans from SAV. Tested it on a few spots on my 712 today. The color is a good "average" between the shades on my truck. Of course it is much darker than the faded paint. Compared to the unfaded paint (under plates, decals) it was a little lighter and a little more olive in color than the deep green of the ambulance box. Overall it is a good shade to use if you are working back towards the original unfaded color.
OK, after a light second coat on my test spots I'll have to say that this paint is almost an exact match to the unfaded areas on my Pinzgauer. I am wondering if this is military color 24087 - looks close.
24087 is US Korean War vintage trucks. The Pinz should be the RAL6014 I think. Lloyd, if you go into the local paint store here they can mix you up some. I got some last summer in Storm Lake.
Thanks for the info Bryan, but for now I am looking at rattle can paint. The paint from SAV is made in Germany and probably is the bundeswehr RAL6014.
The color of 24087 changed with the different federal standards.
595A-24087 is not the same as the current 595B-24087. Actually, the old 24087 is the same color as the new 24084.
I ordered some sample cans of the $5 Gillespie paint in various shades of semi-gloss OD and Marine Corps forest green to see what I liked.

I try not to read scary stuff late at night.
Playing around with the Gillespie colors I found their 24087 to be too brown. The 23070 WWII semi-gloss olive drab looked darn close to the SAV color. I may go with 24052 Marine Corps forest green on the spare ambulance box that's getting turned into a camper.
