Picky, picky.
Actually, all of them are "all wheel drive" or sales brochure language to that effect.

1st buy.
Well I will give my 2 cents worth. I have been reading, searching the net, and talking to all that will talk.
I think I would buy the Pinzgauer 712M as the 1st purchase. I say this as it would fit me and my lifesyle. No a/c so the canvas top, it gets hot here, and the more room. The braking is more in line than the 710. In pictures you don't see 712's rolled, but allot of 710's, but if it can be done, I'm sure I'd be the one to do it. I know someone is going to show me rolled 712's here.
The price is more and so is the maintenance. The speed on the highways is better in the 710 than the 712. Then again, I'm not that fast anymore ether.
I know there should be a disclaimer here, but I don't care as to my knowledge, none of you know where I live
Some of you guys are brutal and make me cry

Not sure about the others so I don't know if my vote counts. I have been running my 710 since I came back from my 5000 mile trip in Feburary against the competition here in the yukon.
I have the radio model and love it and it has tons of room. The bench seat in the back (facing forward) and the table is a big plus I think especially for he passengers and for me when a rookie is behind the wheel for the first time
.
There is lots of room behind the seats too for things that you don't want to be without (like BEER) in Coolers - out of he way of your SHINS. Recovery stuff - ropes - extra oil - firestarter - wood - chainsaw - PULL PAL - tools -etc. It comes with tie downs too so everything stays where you put it.
I have added a bow rack in the front now for my longbow and arrows and I think the Turrett is so cool to have - well that's just plain eye candy to everyone who sees her. They all want to stand up there and get their pic taken.
As far as being capable - well some of these jokers just make me laugh till the tears start. First of all they spend all this money fancing up these rigs with lift kits and horspower and tires and they forget..........A friggin WINCH.......DUH!!!!!
That was the first thing I wanted added to mine before I arrived along with new truxes and the webasto heater from Dennis.
So we get out there and their tearing up the place so they don't get stuck and I just crawl slowly through the terrain just enjoying everything and if I get stuck - oh well - hook onto a tree or use my new PULL PAL which is awesome by the way and I'm off to the next obstacle. WHen they get stuck they are looking for ME or another truck. Well I travel alone alot and the winch is a must I think.
We were up in the tundra the other day (I will post some pics but Photobucket is down right now) and I just locked her all up and crawled ever so slowly as not to tear up the moss and there wasn't anywhere where I even spun out. Basically you could look back and not know where I had been.
You see the land up here takes FOREVER to heal after it's been tore up so I take a great pride in leaving as good or better when I am done. I won't even get into how pissed I get when I see beer cans and broke bottles etc up in this place.......just one time I would like to catch 'em - I wonder if they would here the arrow
I love the Pinz - could it be quieter (that would be nice) - could it be better looking (DON'T THINK YOU CAN MAKE IT BETTER LOOKING) - It sure causes a stir everytime I fuel up or stop down town. Actually some swiss people were at Pizza hut the other day when I was picking up supper (my turn to cook) and they came out of the resturant (during their dinner) just to tell me about MY PINZ (they were so excited to tell me they live where they are built) - very cooooooooooool.
Wish I had some ppl to play with up here though - Like I say the average 4x4 enthusiasts haven't been doing this long enough for me to hang around with them much. You see if you don't have a winch I feel you think you are unstoppable - well then you just haven't gone anywhere really. Like riding horses - if you haven' bin bucked you haven't put in the time yet...simple
So we are planning some fishing trips and hunting trips (our season opens Aug 1st here for hunting) so I will keep the pics coming.

Jer Bear - great answer - thanks!
Agree with much of what you say. I've been 'froading for getting on for 2 decades now and it never ceases to amaze me how many idiots pop up with "all the gear and no idea" each year. Give them 12 months and most have gotten bored and moved on to the next big thing.
I enjoy playing in the mud where it makes sense, and driving like I've never been there when I need to. Half the fun of this stuff is knowing what to do and where.. you never stop learning. After driving in the UK and Europe for years and getting used to mud, snow and ice, I travelled over to Moab and did some slickrock driving - awesome and a completely different skill.
I'm going test driving vehicles in a couple of weeks - will be doing a back to back test with 101s and Pinz (pretty much ruled out the Volvo having recently driven a friends 6x6 offroad - great fun, but just too big for what I want/need... and they seem to be a bitch to get parts for in the UK).
Thanks all

1st Pinz
See, you made me cry again
I looked at that film, slow motion, and freeze framed. That looked like sidehilling to me.
By the way, I moved.
