I'm shutting down the forum, it's too much work.
What would your reaction be if Vince posted that message?
Once again I would like to remind everyone and especially the new folks on the forum that keeping this invaluable resource going takes time and money from Mr. Sweeney.
If you value the forum as much as I do, take a few minutes to make a modest contribution to Vince via PayPal.
I'm sure he will appreciate it.

No disrespect when I say this, as a new Pinz owner I'm probably more grateful than most at the moment that this forum exists...
However, I run a number of other forums for various clubs and groups and it typically costs £20 + the cost of the domain name registration per year to run them. www.4x4.im is a good example.
Not sure what Vince is paying for this one but I'd be more than happy to pass on anything I know if it'll help minimise costs or time.
So in answer to your question, my reaction would be to immediately get another site setup and migrate all the data tables across as quickly as possible. This place is just far too valuable to let it vanish into the dark reaches of the google archives!
Thanks to Vince and everyone that's ever contributed. You've built a goldmine of information here.

That's a reasonable perspective certainly.
For me, if I get a lot of value from a service that I know that I couldn't recreate on my own, I'm happy to pay for that. That's why I send money to Vince periodically.
My attitude is that if you use it, pay for your share of it.

How about everyone kicks in $20 right now so that Vince wets his pants?!
You know you value this forum and it would be difficult to recreate it. Don't be Joe Dirt, show Vince and your forum brothers and sisters (and those few members of the transgendered Pinzgauer community) some love!

Hi guys. I log on to this forum every day and have read every post, some several times. The members and info here is great and has helped me with several problems. I do not have a PayPal account and do not plan on getting one, but if anyone who knows the address I can send a donation to I will gladley do so on a regular basis. Please pm me.

Thanks a lot guys. Scott (our sponsor) and about a dozen of you guys keep it going!
And to "Teebags", maybe you can host a site like this on a toy-like server for $20-40 a year but the Pinz forum gets too much traffic which means more data bandwidth and to get a host that's reliable with back-ups, proper service care/support, etc. it costs several times that. I know what works, I've been doing this for many, many years and have done my homework. (not to mention the man hours put in over a year amounts to a little something, not that Im complaining!)
