Fat Fabrications Moving

To all my close friends and associates in the Pinz comunity,
As much as I will miss you all, My family and I are moving to Texas.
So let it be hollered from the roof tops. Fat Fabrications is relocating from Southern Comifornia to E Texas. After long deliberation with the family, We decided it was in our best intrests to relocate.

So anyone in the southwest with a desire to get some fabrication done sould do so now. Otherwise shipping costs can be incurred.

Anyone in the mid west or east coast looking to make some purchases should wait untill late fall to save some money on shipping.

My planned move date is for the 1st of Sep. provided all orders are completed and delivered prior to that date. I will stay longer if work exists to support the delay in moving.

My contact information will remain the same as well as my involvement in the comunity. I still intend on going to Mogfest 09, finance and pinz permitting.
Jim Laguardia will have my surplus pinz parts to use and sell at his disgression while he works on my 712mkc(former race truck)
Being that I drive Cross country rig, I will still be able to make brief visits to the area and can also ship smaller goods personally.
My more personal friends and associates will be seeing me soon.

Whoa dude, don't freak out just because you're moving to East Texas. Socal's loss is the Gulf Coast's gain. We don't have as many Pinzgauer owners here but I'm sure you'll find new potential customers in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and beyond. I bet you're going to be within a reasonable drive to SAV.

I would encourage you to get your In N Out Burger fix addressed while you can and begin getting your head (mouth?) around Whataburger as their reasonable facsimile here Andre.

Hey that's great news! Welcome to Texas!!!! Ah, East Texas covers a lot of ground, can ya pin it down a little more for us, as to where you will likely be?

You are more than welcome to swing by my direction if it's not out of your way to your final destination.

Andy,

He's moving to a little town in East Texas up towards the Longview, Kilgore, Tyler area. He'll actually have more offroading opportunities than we do here and even a little topography.

Wow, that area is sure growing quickly. I hope he does well up there.

I s'pose anything above sea level is topography if you look at it a certain way.

Longview/Tyler is still a long long way from Del Rio and it's even longer in Pinz time.

Having never been to the US my knowledge is based purely on others peoples reports etc, but from all I have read and heard particularly about Texas I'm fast concluding that in many ways it is very similar to parts of Australia.
In physical size it's equivalent in size to some of our Eastern States, it's temperatures and geography are similar to that in much of Oz and the people....well, the most important thing is that there are PINZGAUERS there, so obviously there are likeminded souls who inhabit the place.

Hmmmm.... Interesting!

Hello Peter, hope things are a little more damp and green in Oz than they were last year.

Oh, indeed Texs has terrain that is varied into distict zones. East Texas is full of actual forests. North Texas down into Central Texas are the lower part of the Great Plains (thiink bison herds and Indians). The Hill Country is just that, lots of hills.

I live out in the Trans-Pecos area and that is where the south and western parts of the Hill Country meet the extreme eastern edge of the Chihuahuan Desert. A big tree here might be 20 feet and the further west you go the shorter the trees get unless they are near water. Almost everything here has spines or thorns. The hotter and drier the bigger the thorns.

The county I live in is the third largest in the state. It has a total area of 3,232 square miles. That happens to be bigger than the States of Delaware or Rhode Island which have 2,489 square miles and 1,545 square miles respectively. It's almost bigger than both combined. Actually when Texas entered the union, it was stipulated that Texas could be broken up into 5 seperate states. I don't think that will happen.

The state is huge. On the interstate highway running east to west it is something like 881 miles across. One thing is consistent throughout though, it is HOT everywhere in the summer.

And as far as driving all day and not making it off the ranch, it is possible. Actually, the newer the truck, the slower you have to go. My 712 is way more easy riding than my '08 F-250 with 4 wheel drive. One ranch I take care of, it is easy to put 70 or 80 miles on the Pinz and most of that will be with the T-case in low and the wheels locked in.

At the risk of annoying everyone on the forum, I'd say that Australia and Texasprobably have more in common that Australian and the US in terms of attitude, risk taking mentality, having fun etc.

Yep, I know what you mean...... There is one property (we call them cattlestations) in the Northern Territory that is 34,000 sq km (6 million acres)

Now let me see if I was in a Haffy with a maximium speed of 48mph how long would it take me get from one side to the other :?: :?: :?: :?:

Well thanks for the warm welcome. I will be in Leesburg. south of Mt. Pleasant, and W of Pitsburg. Provided the owners of the ranch didn't rent it out to another family. I may become a roving fabricator, "watch the police and the tax man miss me, I'm mobile!"

Had to look it up. Not a bad area and you will have some decent lakes to go to if you're into fishing. Not to far from Louisiana either and a casino or two.

Think you will find Texas a little more economical than where you are leaving from. Least I hope so.
