Bleeding brakes not giving me any results
I keep bleeding brakes but I still have to double pump in order to get good stoping power what should I be checking? Thanks in advanced!
Re: Bleeding brakes not giving me any results
Recommend adjusting the shoes, really not a difficult thing. Took me awhile the first time but once I found out that the two threaded holes are for bolts
that remove the drums it was a cinch. I am sure that others will chime in if you have questions. Also a great time to clean everything out...wear a dust mask
that dust is not good for you.
I had your same issue...that's how I know.

Air will just give you a spongy feeling. Like krick3tt said, adjusting shoes will likely solve having to double pump but you might need new shoes if you lost too much material, or in a more extreme case, new drums if that doesn't work and they look worn or have been turned down once already.

Hopefuly it's just an adjustment I'll check it oit when I return home next week!
Re: Bleeding brakes not giving me any results
I had exactly this and it was the shoes that just needed adjusting. Give them a good clean whilst you've got the drums off

I was amazed at how much sand/grit accumulated in my brake cylinders when I took them apart. Driver side front was
completely clogged up.
Big difference in the braking ability and firmness of pedal when I cleaned and flushed them.

I generally power-hose mine when I take the drums off after off-roading - the pile of crud that drains out is quite something. I also give the pads a scrub with a wire brush and then spray with brake cleaner to get any grease off
