I was wondering what dashboard setup you all are sporting. I really do not like the plastic dash, but can't seem to find many photos of anything other than 710/712's and partial pics of mainly RHD diesels, but never the whole thing. Anyone care to share some photos?

Go to my thread on my 718, or my old 716. Dashes on all TDs are basically the same, the switch layout may vary .

I just sent you pics of 11 SOCOM dashes (when at auction). I didn't pay attention to how different the dashes were, just know its 11 different trucks.

Thanks David! I got all the photos and it mostly looks like there was just a shelf put up over the existing plastic. There has to be a better way to lay out a dashboard than what we have. May be time to get a few friends together for a beer and brainstorming session!

The shelf on the SOCOM Pinz dashes was an mod done by our military as a basis for weapon platform, a desk and anything else they might come up with in a tactical situation.
The 2 dashes above would be from civilian or municipal Pinzes. The headlamp switches are toggle switches. Military Pinzes would use the rotary switch to prevent accidental lighting.

I totally agree with you on the shelf purpose and have confirmed that with my old CSM. They had a lot of gear to stack in a small platform, which meant they had to use every spac available.
I was really just hoping for a different setup for the dashboard, maybe something more robust and useable than that plastic crap your passenger bangs their knees on upon entering the vehicle! Maybe I can take everything off from the center over and come up with something. Or, better yet, maybe we can all throw out ideas! I just know there is a better, more attractive and secure way of doing it. Something you could even lock a pistol, purse, wallet, iPad, etc...in, without being a hazard and look cheap.
You guys have some really nice looking rigs! I really appreciate you posting them. I was fortunate enough to have gotten a new, unpainted drivers dashboard with the stack of extra parts I received in the purchase of my Pinz. I have often thought of recreating it in a CAD/CAM program and then changing the layout a bit. I will be installing a boost gauge and pyrometer in the near future, as well as toggles & buttons, and I want it to look tidy. Good thing I have an CNC Plasma Table
(which I am still getting familiar with 
).
