Fat Fab in need of assistance.
Fat Fab in need of assistance.
While servicing a customer truck. My help twisted the all wheel drive, steel locker line clean off where it meets the rubber jumpers under the cooling fan tin. due to it being a Saturday after most import places are closed! I need to see if any pin owner is willing to lend me a line to avoid staying in town for 3more days waiting for a part to ship from the house.

Is there enough length to re-flare the end?
Re: Fat Fab in need of assistance.
Have you shopped for a 7 mm flaring tool on a sat.? Can't find one plus not enough to reflare.Haf-e wrote:Is there enough length to re-flare the end?

Ferrari parts to the rescue !
(Actually, more of a band-aid, but it allowed the truck to get buttoned up for the night. The pipe and fittings shown above are used in Ferrari 360 paddle shifted cars, and something I had in stock back at my office. Naturally the lineage between a Pinzgauer and Ferrari is so obvious...
For those who haven't yet experienced the pleasure of working with the Fat Fabrications team -- and of course Andre himself -- you're missing out. They've been here in North Carolina today swapping out the tired lump (below) in my 710m for a freshly built one (second picture)

Re: Fat Fab in need of assistance.
It was a core engine that Fat Fab and Goatwerks collectively built. On the core, we've got new heads, SSI, carbs, perfect tins, etc. etc. Absolutely beautiful in looks and more importantly, silky smooth in performance. Unfortunately, we've still got one little bugger to work through: a seemingly dead voltage regulator. (How on earth this thing bonked when it was basically sitting untouched for months is beyond me....) Truck fires and runs perfectly, but two different alternators both fail to produce any charging on the batteries and dash light remains lit. I've got a new VR coming this week, but I sure was hoping to have it running for the holidayTechMOGogy wrote:Glad it worked out

The old engine is going back to Texas now and hopefully will find a good home soon.
