Hmmm - looks the same as mine unless I am missing something?

It does but it appears the top portion of the slider was no used.
Using it gives a frame tHe seat botttom bolts to so it can be removed
easily.

Well here's my Smart Car Seat frame -- passenger side.

Top portion of slider retained and welded to the bottom portion
of the Pinz seat frame. I ended up tack welding the members
in place then torch Brazing them inplace. My MIG is a complete
POS, but once tacked you can remove the seat bottom and torch
away. Time to cave and get a decent MIG.

I need to shot a top coat over this frame then I can send a PIX of
the complet assembly.

Passenger seat installed. As you can see using the upper portion of the Slider
as a base to weld to the Pinz bottom frame does not raise the seat significantly.

What's nice about using this member is that the seat is easily removed from the
frame. I also chose to swap the position of the seats; Driver to Passenger
and visa versa, placing the seat recline control outboard making it easier to
adjust recline when removing the seats.

What about the shoulder belt piece, you just cut them off both seats (since it would be on the wrong side now)

They pretty much would be in the way no matter what side so I cut
them off then hit the exposed metal with some black paint. Also
would have interfered with adding a pair of Smittybilt G.E.A.R.
(Molle/Pals) seat covers. I have a set in my 710K, great for storing
odds and ends and effective way to utilize the space behind the seats.

What did you do with the side air bag?

Oh Hmmm, well I didn't know there was one.
Didn't see any indication of something on the side of the seat.
Can you send me a PIX of it's location. Wouldn't want that
to go off randomly.

Well Dah says Airbag right on that plastic side panel -- I have them too.

I suppose this is another good reason to swap the seat positions. If for some
reason the activator decided to go off the bag would have a larger space to
expand to. Dono how I didn't notice this

There is a smartcar guy buy me - this Spring I will drive the Pinz over and see if he can get them out.
I don't like driving with a bomb on my back
If it went off I would probably die of a heart attack or drive into a wall from the scare!

I figured that if I couldn’t find a safe way to remove them I’d just connect the airbag wires together and ground them well.

Final install. The one additional minor recommendation I would make
w.r.t. the drivers seat frame, is to cut approximately 1/2" off the bottom
of the Upper portion of the Smart Car seat rail. This will result in both
seats perched exactly at the same height -- these are unusually high seat backs.
The reason the Drivers side Pinz frame is higher is due to the frame sitting
on a slider mechanism raising the overall by about 1/2". I wanted both the
seat and headrest as low as possible.

Final tweak I sprung for a MOLLE/PALS seat cover from Rugged Ridge.
Was a bit of a gamble as these Smart Car seats are narrow and high back.
After market products like this from Rugged and Smittybilt typically
target the Jeep market. I have a set of Smitty covers in my 710 and I
knew they would be too wide and stout for these Smart seats. Good news
is that the Rugged Ridge product is definitely cut narrower and a bit longer
so the fit is decent. Very handy for putting FirstAid, Tire care, lighting,
etc etc etc in these seat back pockets.
