Re: Choke difficult to close
So I took off the choke(starter valve). The leading one had some burrs on the edges of the openings so I cleaned that up, I put a drop of oil on the disk so it would spin more freely, and I put a drop of oil in the middle of the disk because it rides against a spring and I noticed it would stick on ...

Re: Choke difficult to close
Yes. The return spring is good. I should have included that.
It looks like the choke is a disk with holes that rotates like a faucet cartridge. I’ll try opening one to see if there’s debris in there. It may even be that the edges of the spring wire are snagging and causing the clicking sound.

Choke difficult to close
Over the last month, it has become more difficult to push down the choke knob. Everything runs normal. I disconnected the choke arms from the cable. The cable moves easily. The choke levers move, but I’ve never turned them before so I can’t make any comparisons. The amount of force required to turn ...

Re: Throttle sticking
So I learned something new about the hand throttle. I used to think the only way it worked was pull the handle to desired throttle position and tighten it in place.
But while I was disassembling and chasing sticking points, I noticed the handle was about a half inch higher than normal and there ...

Throttle sticking
Just last night, my throttle started sticking. When I take my foot of the gas, the pedal doesn’t come all the way back up. I tried blipping the had throttle to no avail.
I put a drop of oil on all of the rod ends and sprayed some oil on the pivot that the hand throttle pulls on( I removed the e ...

Re: Sound Control: General theory and Pinz specific issues.
I know that the pinzgauer was never meant to be a comfy cruiser and I know that 50 years has only made it worse(body mounts and original dampening pads hardening). But, I’ve been making slight improvements. I replaced the weatherstripping on the door tops so they don’t rattle. I replaced the muffler ...

Re: installing differential breathers
I plan on installing diff breathers (fr & r). Is it just a matter of removing the cover and connecting the wires or is there a spring waiting to jump out at me?
Also, is it supposed to be dry (No oil)?

Oh. Yeah. I forgot to ask. Regular threads(normal directions) on both fan and crank?

Re: Pulling bottom pulley
I meant how did you hold the pulley/crank while you tightened the bolt?

Re: Pulling bottom pulley
Thanks for the pic.
Did you use any kind of loc-tite on the bolt?
How did you hold pulley/crank while you torqued the bolt?

Pulling bottom pulley
I’ve read that some people were able to pull the pulley by hand while others needed to use a puller.
If it comes to that, what kind of puller should I use?

Re: Circuit #1
It’s very odd. I have the large red wire that would go in there, but the connector has been removed. The wire is not connected to anything. There’s a plate held in with 4 tiny screws where the connector would be.
Re: Idle rpm
I’m curious. I have a 3-cell lipo(11.1volts) for my rc truck. Could I use that to power the timing light?

Sounds good. What size cap do you use? The “European “ kit includes a 45mm cap. Is that the right size for all three?

Which model did you buy? Aeromotive has different versions. Metal caps, swivels, etc…
Is there a feature you wish you had or should avoid?
