I know a couple of guys who use them as their daily drivers.
Yes, parallel parking a Pinzgauer is tough and it was considered for Olympic event consideration (by the Swiss AND the Austrians) but how often are you really going to be doing that?

i am seeing quite a bit of comments on the maintenance. Which is kinda concerning me.
I have an 05 Jeep Rubicon that is my daily driver, and sees some pretty good offroad at least twice a month.
For the most part, besides checking it over, I change the oil, rotate the tires. LOL
Just how much maintenance do these things need?
If I am only driving it once or twice a week, and not on really long trips, how much am I going to have to fix?
Its most likely to be used a couple times a month to go on a 50 to 100 mile trip, with some offroading, and lots of camping.

I noticed that there are a couple axle boot seals cracked badly.
how important are these? and how hard are they to replace?
Some seem to be factory ones, and some seem to be the aftermarket cheaper split seal ones.
The one place I found these for sale was Very expensive for a seal !!!
Just trying to figure out how much additional cost I am going to be piling up here fixing thing right off the get go.
Also, I noticed the front wheel seals? are leaking also, but this seems to be fairly common on this type of setup?
How badly do I need to replace those? here is a pic that shows them well.

The passenger side of the engine was wet also, but nothing actually dripping.
There was also a small seep back in the rear, I think where the rear diff bolts to the drivedrain housing?
You can kinda see it in the above pic.
These are my main concerns, I dont mind things seeping a bit, I can just keep an eye on the fluids, and top them off.
but I am worried about mud working it way in there.

I LOVE driving my truck. I drive it hundreds of miles a weekend in the summer going all over the mountains.
Initially I went nuts trying to fix every single drip, rattle, etc. It's a 35 year old military vehicle! All of my electrical glitches were just dirty connections. I live with the minor leaks and monitor the fluids.
It will NOT be as comfy as the Rubi, nor as maintenance free. Again, it's a 35 year old military vehicle.
There are bolt together axle boots that don't require removing the axles to change. The original ones do.
I have not found ANY vehicle with the fun factor of a Pinz.

What Jeep club care you in--the Maryland Jeep Club? Where in WV are you located? Have you been to Green Ridge State Forest? I say BUY IT, then come to Rausch Creek w/ me and some other Pinz owners this May 16, 2009--it's about time we get some more Pinzgauers on the East Coast! I'll also be driving my Pinz to the military vehicle show in Aberdeen, MD the following week. Only thing is, my Pinzgauer 712M will be SLOWER than your Pinzgauer 710M!

After MUCH research and a couple sleepless nights, its just adding up to more money then I can afford, and justify
Still looking into options, but it looks like this project may have to wait.
