While rebuilding my Pinz, I've had occasion to strip a thread or two, okay a few more than that. Just remember that every time you break a rusted bolt loose, you are in fact removing some of the threads and weakening their ability to hold at the required torque.
So here is the thread kits listed in groups that I thought were most important. (Not complete, just what I've done so far)
These are for the Brakes, Clutch, Lockers (Master and Slave)
M6x1.0 Bleeder valves, yeah be really careful with these.
M10x1.0 Bleeder Valves Front Brakes and Banjo bolts on all others.
This is for all the drain and fill plugs and the Centering Bolt for the axle half’s. This ones going to hurt $200.00+ but a good kit to have.
M22x1.5
These are for the carbs. Still working on this set.
M5x0.9 Having trouble finding this size kit. This is the must have for carbs.
M7x1.0 Rarely needed. But easy to find.
M9x1.0 Rarely needed. Having trouble finding this size kit.
Jim LaGuardia...Here's a question since you have repaired the threads on the Carb's before. Can you use the M5x.08 thread repair kits, or do you know a source for the M5x.09 kits.
As I find deals I will be getting the standard kits for the majority of threads.
M8x1.25 M8x1.0
M10x1.5 M10x1.25
M12x1.5 M12x1.25
M16x1.5
Just remember that the threads get weak and be careful when you tighten your bolts back up. Repairing the threads yourself is pretty easy to do, but practice with some smaller sizes before tackling the M22x1.5's as they can be a bit tricky.
I would also like to get a good metric thread chaser/restorer kit. For now I have a metric thread repair tool that does the trick with a little practice and patience. I highly recommend it for a minimal tool roll kit.
