New Pinz owner in the Catskills.....just recieved my truck!

Post by czarthirteen »

......little did he know that the wait would begin to pale upon reception......

It took a little while to find its way to the east coast but once this little thing showed up in a parking lot this week, it seemed like time began to wind to a stop.

Its been pouring down rain in the Catskills for what seems to be too many weeks. We lost a town to a creek just down the line from us; many of our roads, which usually leave much to be desired in most facets for a pleasant driving experience on a good day, are gone. Its really interesting to buzz down pavement till it prematurely ends at a 80 foot wide river that ordinarily runs as an 8 to 20 foot creek. There's a lot of destruction up here, easily visible by our main county routes, futhermore, what you don't see from there, where many live is devastated in the low lying areas. We live on a high and dry hill but even the 10 foot culvert on our road that catches a small stream left a good twenty inches of water flowing over a 60 foot section of road....that piece of road faired well; only about 350 feet downhill from our property....a half mile further up our road did not fair so well, same in the other direction.

So, through all this, with travel being kinda congested and being under curfew for quite a few nights by the National Guard, among other crazy happenings surrounding this little hurricane ....its just been the most patience taxing thing I've yet experienced to not have had this thing two weeks ago......grrrrrr.

Hence, its name.

The day before yesterday was the day it showed up.

Thank you much, to all who chimed in before.....the invite is still open for anyone who wants to see some new trails in the Catskills....lots of 'em! The water really had a field day up here.

Thanks to Paul Underwood..I sure would like those pictues of the Pinz getting ready to be loaded, pretty serendipidous that you were around t see that.

Now....its time for me to figure out how to load pictures on here.....hmmm, I'm thinking the android has to have an easy button for this.

So glad things worked out for you in regards to the safe delivery of the Pinz and that you did not suffer the devastation experienced by many in the catskills and the hudson valley. I was happy to have my pinz available to me during this time in case I needed it for a quick getaway. I too made out fine with no real damage to speak of, but many of my neighbors are still either under water or have lost most of their possesions in the aftermath of this storm. I definately want to get togeather with you someday soon and see some of the areas you ride. We have a few other guys in NY and LI that we could possibly get together and make a party of it... :D

Czar,

Glad to hear the truck got there safe and sound. It sounds like it might come in real handy just getting around on your roads there, never mind the trails!

It was just pure luck that I saw your truck the other day. I'd just left town and was headed home, and my friend Sam called to alert me that there was a Pinz ambulance parked at the coop. So I went back.

Anyway, Sam's the one with the camera-phone. (You didn't expect me to have one, did you? Remember, I'm one of those guys still using carburetors. ) Send me a pm with your phone number and I'll have him transmit them to you.

Regards,
Paul
