I used half inch closed cell foam from home depot or lowes. It has a silver side. It is fairly rigid. Works well but you definitely need the right adhesive, especially if you put it up before you paint the top white!
I will see if I can find what adhesive I used. There is one type of 3M that won't work.
If you didn't get stuck, you didn't try hard enough.

btw: re white paint - there are differences. some reflect ir really well (designed that way) and other dont as well. it's worth seeking out the good stuff.

I insulated my top with the bubble stuff with foil coating that is used for water heaters. Spray adhesive used to put black Sunbrella fabric on the cab side. Works great and very inexpensive.
Will do the back as soon as I can get some 4 foot wide stuff from HD or Lowes. Comes in 25 foot long rolls and enough for 3 pinzies. I want to be able to share with local folks if anyone is interested.
So does adding in some insulated material (that's either already white or would be painted such) really help to make the cab and rear of a Pinz more comfortable? It sounds like a good idea and this seems like an easy to execute project but does it really do anything useful?
It's going to reach 100F this afternoon and other than dragging around an Aggrekko mobil a/c unit, it would be nice to make the summer time driving experience here just a tad less brutal.

Makes a big diff here. My hard top got so hot last weekend my son burt his hand on it. It's been 102F sense sunday and rain for three days before that.
Put eight hundred miles on the pinz over the weekend. Was hot to say the least so hot the insulation wanted to pull away from the body so I removed it in areas. Ideas on what glue to use?
Figured i'd post a few pics here instead of starting a new thread.

three days. Not that hard when you're doing 3500 RPM had to keep the speed up to get a breeze. A/c unit is to big and drained my batteries once I get it all insulated i think i'll put in a A/c like mark has.
