New Wisconsin Pinz

Post by jpipes »

Hey folks! It's been awhile since I've posted here but wanted to let folks know that my Pinz just moved from California to Wisconsin. I drove it part way from CA to WI this week, towing it freewheel behind a Sprinter Van and driving it over the various passes on the way. Left Sunday night and arrived in Wisconsin on Tuesday night. Not bad!

Just got up to speed on the all the ruckus regarding Pinzgauer's in Wisconsin, what a mess! Looks like things have finally been resolved though the having to pay extra to drive it in January seems rather annoying.

Curious if there are any Pinzgauer facilities in the region? I recall one in Milwaukee/New Berlin but can't seem to locate them online anymore.

Take care and thanks for reading!

Welcome to Wisconsin!

Yup, the title and registration issue(s) have been sorted out and the DMV will begin taking applications in mid-August. Yes, January costs extra but the main fee is a once only charge instead of annual so overall a big savings.

There's a couple of repair/rebuild shops in the Blue Mounds/Mt. Horeb area. Paul Underwood (undysworld on the forum) does some projects and maintenance and so does Helwig's Auto in Mt. Horeb. Don't know about Milwaukee area. Where are you located?

I am in Waukesha just west of Milwaukee. Would love to see another Pinz on the road around here.

Jpipes,

Welcome to Wisconsin. It's good to increase the local flock. One of the nice things that DOT did for us here is to get us all acquainted with each other. That, and now letting us essentially drive around for free, while carrying loads. I guess they like us after all!

See ya around.

Jpipes,
Did you ever reach Wisconsin?
BTW, the fellow you remember from New Berlin was likely Bob Rainek. If you can't find him any other way, pm me and I can forward an email address to you.

Thanks for all the replies folks! I finally made it to Wisconsin, and the Pinz made it with me. After three cross country trips (not all in the Pinz of course) I am relocated.

Currently enjoying the fall colors and getting ready for winter. Have to do some work on the truck before it gets too cold, but otherwise it's running great. Look forward to meeting some Pinzgauer folks in the area.

We thought you got lost in Iowa, or someplace. Glad to hear you're local finally. Please keep us informed of any registration issues (hopefully none!).
