Post by geckoadventure »

Hi guys someone may have posted pics like this before but this is the PI(NZ's sittring in a yard at Kerling Malaysia since 2008 :( as I usually hide in the Volvo section of this forum.

And the one on the top of the containr makes 11.

I know the guy wants outrageous prices for them.

I already have a Volvo C304 as the PINZ's are so hard to register

What $ constitutes "outrageous" in Malaysia?

This yard is famous in Malaysia, or most likely infamous as they want gold prices for rust. Not many people in the 4x4 scene in Malaysia will buy anything from them.

Pinzgauers are only difficult for that yard to register, not for the normal dealers.

To give an idea on how high his prices are, they have sold 2 Pinzgauers since 2008 and although the vehicles have got worse his price is 5 times higher than when offered at auction in 2008

Hi Mike, I was wondering how long it would be for you to chime in.. :wink:

I know you wouldn't give it a 2nd thought, but, to Americians, the Malaysian Pinzes are RHS

In UK they say near side and I think far side, could be offside

Near side means LHS or the side of the car closest to the roadside or gutter so they order parts by saying I need the nearside door etc.

hood - bonnent
trunk = boot
fender = wing

If a girl in a shop asks if you want your baps buttered it is not a pick up line :lol:

I knew about bonnet, boot and wing but baps being buttered is new to me. If it is not a pick up line, should I carry baps with me to pass about randomly or upon request.?

...and don't you blokes drink your beer warm? Strange happenings. Oh wait... that is UK. Sorry. When I was in the Philippines I drank cold San Miguel.

I'm an Aussie so we like our beer cold instead of luke warm

Baps is a northern english term for buns............ Buns the bread type

Another weird one is what you call a fanny in the US is completely different in the UK. Some would say the uses are completely opposite

Ok before I bought my VOlvo C304 i went to both dealers in Kerling and they wanted 60,000rm (or 9-10,000 Pounds for one) and another 1,500pounds to register. Military vehicles hard to register here :( - so I ended up with the ex Police Volvo for about 5,000pounds and spending that much restoring it :)

I only know of one PINZ road registered in Malaysia

Off the top of my head I know of 10 716 registered in west malaysia and 2 718

There is another 718 registered in east malaysia

They are not difficult at all to register. It just depends on if the army sold as scrap or a vehicle. If sold as scrap it may as well be impossible

I know the volvo you bought.

I forgot to add .... To register costs an extra 1500 RM and road tax and insurance is cheaper than my hilux was

YEs the one I know of is on a forum here but I have not meet him yet - he does not take the PINZ out much - whereas I intend to take my VOlvo out more and more once its finished.

That Volvo is now stripped and being rebuilt minus the RUST :( as per my current avatar :)

Yes Sold as SCRAP cannot reigster (hence the demise of the 6x6's) as I really want a 6x6 but alas civvies cannot register one and I believe all the 6x6's sold as scrap and the Volvos also :( .

My road tax expensive $2000rm+ as 3.0. Insurance cheap about $400 for a year.

I looked at your website cool.

Maybe next year after all this is over I might get permission to buy a PINZ :)
