work day

Post by krick3tt »

Michael,
See you on Saturday. I just got a new VDO speedo from SAV that I would like to install. Surely someone knows the correct way to get it in there and set right.
I just noticed (last night) that one (left rear) axle boot is cracked but I did not have time to order one for the work day. But I don't think it is a real trial to get one on for the trip to Seattle.

Cheers,
Morris

I have to swap a few boots. If you need to do yours now, you can use one of the boots that I have, and I'll order another one.

Guys, here is a list of what I will bring with me: 3 light bars, Carb gaskets , sync tool, float guage( I have 1 extra if anyone is interested), 2 split boots, brake shoes, wheel cylinder kits, brake tools, patch material and glue, porta power(Andre wants to do a stop ring), spare plugs & wires, dist. cap, coil, timing light, a couple of oil filters and other small parts.
I need to know if there are any other parts or special tools that I will need to assist anyone.
There should be 3 fuel injected Pinzgauers there for those interested in converting to oogle over
I will be able to stay till 9 or 10PM.
See you all there :)

Last chance for anyone to have me bring tinted glass for their Pinz to the tech day, and for that matter , receiver hitches ( it's hard to believe that I've supplied around 200 of these since 2001).

I already put my order in for the windshield. How much are the receiver hitches?

Great turnout, at Dave's count, we had 14 Pinzgauers, and two monster Unimogs show up with approximately 25 or so folks around for most of the day for the festivities.

Thanks to everyone who drove their trucks from all parts of SoCal and even to Jim S who drove with his wife from Yuma to join in.

Interesting things that were done to the trucks.

A couple of hydraulic bleeds on different trucks
Replaced valve guide seals
Installed electronic speedometer
Installed backup lights
Swapped overhead consoles and seats between different owners
Oil changes
Transmission adjustments

There was a bunch more, but it was hard to keep track. A special thanks to Pat LaGuardia, who was suckered in by Jim who told him he just needed to drop off a truck and do a couple of things. Jim finally left around 10:15PM. :)

A final note... Dave, when attending a Pinzgauer event, when you have a one of a kind Pinzgauer, don't show up in your Toyota Hybrid. ;)

Ok Mike.... which reply do you like best?....

1) Do you think I'd bring the Pink Cow to be mugged for it?

2) With your reasoning above, Pinzes shouldn't attend a Mogfest ( that would make you a favorite with other Pinzers that want to go to Calico  )

3) If I hadn't, you wouldn't have had anything to bitch about ( but am sure you would have found something  )

OR

4) I got 28 mpg , double what the Pinz gets, and I don't give a ---- what you think.

It was a great day, and thanks.... it really was nice not being the host and having to be nice to people....shezzz ...., like I'm any better when I am.

Cheers

Thanks Mike for the excellent day, lots of Pinzgauers (14).
I think everyone had fun and lots of repairs/upgrades got done.
See you all at Calico! Now it's time for me to get busy on my Hafie trans so I can bring it with me for the trail ride (fingers crossed).

Michael and Jim (Ramona Motors),

Thanks for hosting such a great event. It was good to see so many old friends and make a few new ones. Thanks to Jim L. for the help with the electronic speedo.
I will miss Calico this year, hope to see some of you at NWMF or possibly Moab.

Cheers,
Morris
